This website (amisaacs.org) is operated by Allan-Matthew Isaacs. I take your privacy seriously, and this page explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it.

Information I collect
Information you give me directly. If you subscribe to my newsletter, I collect your first name, last name, and email address. If you contact me through the contact form, I collect your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site collects basic technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. This is standard analytics data and is not used to identify you personally.
How I use your information
I use the information I collect to:
Send you the newsletter you signed up for
Respond to messages you send me
Understand which content people find useful, so I can write and teach better
Keep the site working properly and secure
I do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with advertisers.
If you subscribe, you'll receive [DESCRIBE: e.g. "a short email every other Tuesday"]. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, and I'll remove you from the list. I won't email you about anything you didn't sign up for.
Service providers
This site relies on a few third-party services, and your information passes through them:
Squarespace hosts this website and processes form submissions. See Squarespace's privacy policy at squarespace.com/privacy.
Mailchimp and Squarespace Email Campaigns stores my mailing list and sends my newsletters.
YouTube hosts videos embedded on this site. Watching an embedded video may allow YouTube to set cookies and collect data under Google's privacy policy.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including Amazon (where my book is sold) and my social media accounts. I'm not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Once you leave amisaacs.org, this policy no longer applies.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help websites function and remember preferences. This site uses cookies for basic functionality and analytics. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or delete existing ones — check your browser's settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you block them.

Stop sending you email
Email me at allanmatthewisaacs@gmail.com and I'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as Jamaica's Data Protection Act, the EU's GDPR, or California's privacy laws. I'll honour requests under those laws regardless of where you're writing from.
Data retention
I keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of our correspondence.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given me personal information, please contact me and I'll delete it.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect the information I collect, and the services I use maintain their own security measures. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, and I can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll change the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted here.
